H.E.L.P. is an acronym for “Help Elevate Learning Processing”

Formerly Help Eliminate Learning Problems

Our Mission:
HELP is dedicated to improving the way children and adults process information, thereby increasing their understanding, communication, educational and employment potential and quality of life, without regard to ethnic background or religious beliefs.

Origins:
HELP is not-for-profit, non-discriminatory corporation,  owned and operated in Oregon since 1984. We have been in the Lake Oswego area since inception. In 2018 we updated our name from Help Eliminate Learning Problems to Help Elevate Learning Processing to better reflect our mission.  We are in the same great location with the same great people.

Who we are:
HELP tests, evaluates, and treats children and adults with learning problems and processing weaknesses. We provide ADHD treatment, Asperger's treatment, and Dyslexia treatment.  We also provide services to those with diagnosed and undiagnosed processing challenges due to strokes, concussions, cancer treatment (chemotherapy) and fetal alcohol syndrome.

HELP has conducted over 9000 tests and has treated over 5000 children and adults between the ages of 7 and 74.

Don’t just take our word, listen to our Graduated Students...

HELP identified and corrected our adopted children's processing issues.

Adopting older children from India poses many challenges, not the least of which is how to approach their education.  My husband and I are so thankful to have found the people at H.E.L.P. early in our process.  The incredible staff at H.E.L.P. were able to test, identify, and alleviate some profound processing issues through customized training and encouragement. With the H.E.L.P. program (and some very determined study), each of our daughters were able to soar past their previous limitations and find success in high school and college.

I’m so proud to say that K. graduated from University of Oregon in Applied Economics and C. won an $80K scholarship to Whitworth University where she is currently studying Health Sciences.  There is no way to measure the great work that H.E.L.P. provides to families who complete their program; it truly is life-changing!

HELP is Not Traditional Learning!

“I started the HELP program mainly because I wasn’t doing well in school as well as my parents and I wanted to do. What I’ve taken away from it was a year of fun, basically. It wasn’t a traditional learning style, where you sit down, study...it’s completely different.  They have you do juggling, ball & stick--ask Susan or Bill about that.

It basically taught me how to think with both sides of my brain, instead of just my right or my left. And that has been really helpful.

What I plan on taking away from this (experience) is that I want to pursue a career in education and become a teacher for high school students.”

HELP changed my child’s’ life!

“The program at HELP has really changed our lives! Amber is so much more confident and happy, she really believes in herself.”
